It’s safe to say everyone would like to feel more energetic during the day. We naturally go through periods of higher activity which then balances off with times of relaxation.
The problem occurs when more energy and concentration is required than we can give. Or when we try to sleep and can’t. Follow these invaluable tips to a new you!
1) Develop a regular sleep schedule
You can’t stay up late during the weekend and suddenly come Monday morning expecting to wake up feeling refreshed.
If you do enjoy later nights on Friday and Saturday that's okay, we want you to enjoy your time off. But assure you go to bed early on Sunday to wake up rested.
This works for any schedule you may have, not everyone has the same days off or late nights, so please adjust to your needs. The key is to develop a sleep schedule that works for you.
However, that's easier said than done. Developing a consistent sleep schedule can take months! But here's where some good old natural sleep supplements can greatly be of help.
My top pick? Organic Ashwagandha. Definitely works like a magic pill while being 100% natural!
2) Avoid the sugar and caffeine roller coaster ride
Eat some protein and foods with a bit of fat in the morning. The brain needs protein that the body does not store, which makes it important to consume.
You don’t have to eat very much- a glass of low fat milk, a piece of cheese, or a handful of nuts will get you going instead of pure carbohydrates like a plain bagel. We want to consume good proteins and nutrients, not empty calories that will eventually give us a crash as we go through the day.
Having some almonds, pistachios, sesame seeds or a banana during the day can be great energy boosting snacks.
And- most importantly, don't forget your morning vitamins!
3) Take a 5-10 minute power nap around noon or your lunch
Even if you just close your eyes and let your mind drift you will feel refreshed for the afternoon. This is also effective anytime you feel overwhelmed, find yourself not concentrating, reading the same material over and over or simply just need a break.
Don’t fight it, give in and completely relax for a few moments. You deserve it.
4) Drink more water and liquids
I know, everyone says to drink more fluids. But for good reason, most Americans are in a constant state of dehydration from filling up on coffee, tea, and sodas with caffeine. This can be very stressful to the kidneys and can cause irritation to the bladder.
Keep a sports bottle filled with water with you throughout the day to ensure you hydrate. Set a goal - empty by lunch, refill, empty again by the time work is over. Carry plenty of water in the car too for you and your family.
Side Tip
Add some of our Organic Spirulina Powder in your water to provide yourself with some strong antioxidants.
Antioxidants are important because they protect our cells against free radicals which are molecules that help break down daily toxins like smoke, and radiation that we breathe in daily.
Helping the body break those toxins down will in return give us more energy. Spirulina is a blue-green algae that packs a powerful punch of protein and nutrition - basically, it's a nutritional powerhouse ready to be your side-kick!
5) Exercise regularly: A body in motion stays in motion!
Engage in regular exercise. With a hectic schedule, this is easier said than done. Even completing basic tasks like going up stairs or doing housework can make someone with poor conditioning gasp for air and get the heart racing.
If that’s the case, start here: as you shop, park further away and take a stroll.
Walk around the block, take your pets with you if any. When the weather is poor, acquire a workout video to watch or listen to or dust off your exercise machine.
There are plenty of home workout videos to choose from. Try doing it with a family member or friend, having someone to join can make it fun and motivating.
Maybe if you lead by example, your friends or family members would follow suit!
A great energy-boosting supplement that can kickstart your exercise routine would be Natural Bee Bread. No toxins, no side effects, and a 100% natural and vegan!
6) A joke a day keeps the doctor away
Really! There are a lot of health benefits to laughing. A good hearty laugh increases the chemicals in the brain that are responsible for joy, happiness, and calm.
Live by yourself? Get a hilarious film or tune in to a lighthearted comedy on television. Nothing insulting or snarky, though.
Ever notice how your body and mind feel more relaxed and energized after a good laugh or happy day? We all need those good happy chemicals running through our body to feel energized.
On the other hand, if you feel too anxious or fatigued throughout the day, consult a physician or try a natural supplement that could help your mental health.
7) Avoid confrontations and situations with negative people
You know who they are, those energy vampires that just tire you out after being around them.
They are not going to change but they will bring you and your mood down. The complainers, gossipers, and generally unhappy souls we all have to deal with on a day-to-day basis drain our energy if we allow them.
Be polite but avoid arguing or getting hooked into listening to their constant problems. You’ll thank yourself later.
8) Take regular, daily supplements of the highest quality
Supplements ensure your daily intake has enough nutrients and vitamins to keep your physical and mental health optimal- without relying on any artifical or toxic ingredients!
The majority of people's food and diets simply do not meet the amounts needed for maximum health. Taking your daily vitamins and supplements can help you check off your nutrient boxes for the day and give you that energy.
Some great supplements to start this journey with would be:
Super Greens Powder: Provides your body with the recommended amount of daily vitamins to boost energy levels!
Reishi Mushroom: An anti-anxiety and anti-fatigue organic and vegan supplement that does wonders!
9) Start choosing organic!
We all want to make the change towards an organic diet- after all it's natural, better for your body, and is proven to improve your mental health!
However, making the shift towards organic foods and drinks can be difficult. Not many organic products are as easily accessibly and most people also wonder if they'd have to compromise on taste when going for organic.
A good method for making this healthy shift would be to start with baby steps. Choose one regular food/drink of your day, and try shifting it to an organic alternative. For example, replacing your morning coffees with organic coffee.
With so many organic coffee options available today, you wouldn't have to worry about compromising on quality or taste.
The organic coffee my caffiene addiction absolutely LOVED during my personal shift towards an organic diet was Hemp Blend. Honestly, chef's kiss!
Conclusion
Overall, following and starting with the steps listed above will not only give you more energy but will improve your overall lifestyle. As you make them a habit increase them as you grow. Remember to regularly take your daily vitamins/supplements!
Wising you the best!
