Chai Tea with spirulina

Ingredients for Chai Tea - Spirulina 

2 cups water

1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)

2 teaspoons loose black tea leaves (or 2 tea bags)

1 cinnamon stick

4 green cardamom pods, crushed

4 whole cloves

1-inch piece of fresh ginger, sliced

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 tablespoon honey or sweetener of choice (optional)

1 teaspoon spirulina powder

Servings: 2  - Time: Approximately 15 minutes


Instructions:


In a saucepan, combine water, milk, cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, cloves, ginger slices, nutmeg, and black pepper. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 5 minutes to allow the spices to infuse into the liquid.

Add the black tea leaves or tea bags to the saucepan and simmer for another 3-4 minutes, depending on how strong you prefer your tea.
